About me:

I’m a board-certified physical therapist with over 12 years of experience in sports therapy and 5+ years in home health. I hold a Bachelor's in Science from Mt. St. Mary's College and a Master's in Physical Therapy from Cal State Long Beach.

Specializing in high school athletes, weekend warriors, and the geriatric population, I incorporate a brain-based approach to enhance movement and overall quality of life. I'm also certified in Empowered Relief and advanced home health physical therapy, with additional training in Z-Health and myofascial decompression.

As a former high school and college sprinter, hurdler, and triple jumper, I understand the biomechanics of sports and life. Currently, I am training as a Masters track athlete for the Southern California Striders, balancing life, business, and being a forever athlete. I can relate if you're doing the same.

My commitment to continuous learning ensures I stay current with new treatments and techniques, focusing on a holistic brain, body, and soul approach to therapy. Whether you're recovering from an injury or looking to improve your physical capabilities, I’m here to help you reach your goals and realize your full potential.

How it started:

I started Guzman Physical Therapy because I saw the decline in the healthcare system, with patients being double-booked and only seen by their physical therapist for 15 minutes. This focus on volume over quality drove me to branch out and provide the kind of care I would want for my friends and family—care that gets real results and gives patients the freedom to choose what's best for their bodies.

General Questions

Can I schedule an appointment without a doctors prescription?

Yes, you can see me without a doctor's prescription for up to 45 days or 12 visits, whichever comes first. If you need more sessions, we can contact your doctor for a prescription.

Do you take my insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider, so you will be responsible for payment. If you have private insurance and are under 65, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. However, there's no guarantee they will cover the total cost; usually, they reimburse a small percentage.

Can I use my HSA or FSA account?

Yes you can.

Can I only schedule a service if I am injured?

No, you can use my services as a preventative approach or prehab. I offer wellness services and can create a self-care plan to keep you active and injury-free, so you don't miss gym days or weekend races and competitions you enjoy. Good for weekend warriors.

Do you take Medicare?

I am an out-of-network provider and not enrolled with Medicare. If you have Medicare and choose to work with me, you can't get reimbursement from Medicare.

“Everything you have ever felt or done in your life was due to brain function. At the most basic level, intricate firing rates and patterns of your brain both determine who you have been and, more importantly who you will become. All human changes represents changes in that individual’s nervous system. All that we are is brain-derived”
